Telecommunications’ giant, Airtel Uganda recently launched a campaign to share the joy of Christmas with communities and to bring hope to individuals, customers and organizations that are doing the great work of restoring hope in the lives of others in the community.
Themed ‘12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS’, the campaign was derived from a popular Christmas song “The Twelve Days of Christmas”, an English Christmas carol that enumerates a series of grand gifts given on each of the twelve days of Christmas.
For this campaign, Airtel Uganda staff members chose 12 community projects dear to their hearts, and went on to share the Red Airtel Christmas with them. Organizations such as Cherish Uganda in Entebbe, Natasha Nutrition Center, Kawempe Home Care in Kanyanya as well as individuals such as Aunt Robinah on Salamah road and Immaculate – a kidney transplant patient have already benefited from this campaign.
“It is better to give than to receive, as the old adage goes and at no time of year do we feel this more keenly than the holidays,” commented Airtel Uganda Corporate Social Responsibility Manager, Mrs. Charity Bukenya.
“This campaign is an opportunity for the Airtel Uganda staff members to contribute to and appreciate the communities in which they live and work,” Bukenya added.
This year, Airtel Uganda has come out strongly to show their appreciation to individuals and organizations that are silently making a difference in their communities through campaigns such as ’12 Days of Christmas’ and ‘Together We Can’.
