As the countdown lowers down to five days for the highly anticipated clash of the East African giants Uganda and West Africa’s “Blackstars”, the Uganda Cranes set off for Kumasi yesterday evening. The Cranes left Entebbe International Airport at around 6pm boarding the Ethiopian Airlines but will have a stop over in Niamey, Niger where they will be playing the home team in an international friendly on Tuesday.
The team is under the leadership of Darius Mogoye. The team has two goal keepers, six defenders and midfielders plus four strikers. Uganda’s lead striker Geoffrey Massa is one of the notable figures that missed the flight because his club will only release him on Wednesday and on-form KCCA midfielder Brian Majwega who has been left out due to injury. However Masa will be available for the match against Guinea on September 10 at Namboole.

Goal Keepers: Dennis Masinde Onyango, Robert Odongkara
