Uganda Cranes kicked off their 2015 CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup campaign on a very bad note following a 2-0 loss to longtime rivals and neighbours in the east, Kenya.
With former Cranes coach Bobby Williamson on the touch line for the opponents, he proved that he knew Uganda inside and out as the Cranes fell to the Harambe Stars on Sunday afternoon in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Jacob Kheli gave Harambe Stars a deserved lead in the 29th minute while second half substitute Michael Olunga scored the other in the 50th minute.
Uganda missed a couple of chances with them coming closest to netting a goal when team skipper, Farouk Miya hit the woodwork in the first half before missing another keeper-to-beat opportunity.
The Cranes return to action tomorrow (Tuesday, 24th) against Zanzibar in a must win.
