Sad news reaching our desk indicates that two people were shot dead by a policeman identified as Wafula Oguttu when the crowd went rowdy after dancehall artiste Ziza Bafana snubbed a show last Saturday night in Bugiri district.
The incident took place at Jojos Night Club located in Bugiri town as the police officer who was guarding the Clubs’ premises tried to calm down the situation in vain. He then started shooting at them and ended up killing two people.
We have further learnt that the policeman and Daniel Basoma also known as Frog were arrested after this ugly incident.
When we contacted Ziza Bafana’s manager Rokani David about the incident, he said; “We had agreed with the events’ promoter to pay us 3 million which he never paid. We even told him that for an artiste to leave Kampala for a concert, the promoter has to pay at least 50% but only paid us 500,000 shillings which doesn’t even reach half.”
He also added that the promoter kept in contact with them saying that he will clear the balance but did not. Rokani concluded by indicating that they are not responsible for the death of the two people who were shot by the policeman.
