BigEyeUg brings you a list of five most talented musicians in Uganda, some might not have achieved a lot yet in the industry but their talent is worth a credit. It doesn’t mean that the musicians who haven’t made it to our list are not talented, but the ones we have selected, have the most exceptional talent.
5. Irene Ntale: She is one of the best vocalists in the industry, she has managed to produce hit after hit ever since she came on the scene. The Swangz Avenue singer is also a good guitarist, she even appeared on BBC focus on Africa in her early music career just because of her exceptional talent and hence the “Stay With Me” hit maker makes it to our number five position.
4. Cindy Sanyu: When she quit Blu3, we all thought she couldn’t make it solo. However she surprised us with “Ayokyayokya” hit and up to now she hasn’t looked back. The singer can sing in different genres like RnB, dancehall, reggae and afro zouk making her one of the most talented singers we have right now.
3. A Pass: He is upcoming but we all have to admit that this fast rising star’s talent is extra ordinary. A Pass can not only sing, but he is also a very good song writer and his work is highly recognized by many top artistes like Bebe Cool as he wrote over three songs on the Go Mama album. It should be noted that just after 2 years in the industry, A Pass has managed to produce over 100 songs.
2. Radio and Weasel: With no doubt, the East Africa’s dynamic duo had to make it to number 2 on this list. Ever since they formed the Good Lyfe Crew in 2008, the equally talented singers have been producing classic hit songs, winning several recognized awards and they were once nominated in the prestigious BET awards.
1. Chameleone: He has been on top for over 15 years. His consistence in producing great songs enjoyed by all classes of people all over Africa makes the Leone Island’s CEO our most talented musician in Uganda. Some of the best artistes in the industry like Radio and Weasel, King Saha, AK47 (RIP), Yung Mulo, among others have gone through his hands and many refer to him as their mentor.
