Sad as it may sound to their die-hard fans, East Africa’s most dynamic duo, Radio and Weasel are fighting. The singers who have managed to stay on top of the music industry as friends and work colleagues could be headed for the gutter if issues surrounding their recent fight are not resolved quickly.
It all started in the last week of April. Our sources reveal that Weasel (who is known to keep his calm amidst the toughest of situations) just couldn’t take it anymore and stood up to his singing partner and respected Vocalist, Mowzey Radio.
He beat him up like a baby at their Neverland ‘ranch’ in Makindye driving what could be the last nail in their musical coffin unless a miracle happens to reunite the two “Amaaso” singers.
According to an eye witness who spoke to a local tabloid, Weasel had gone to town on Monday 27th. He returned to the wails of their butler. Apparently, Radio was ‘punishing’ the old man because he had annoyed him. “I am the boss here and no one should annoy me. This is what you get for going against me,” Radio reportedly said as he pounced on the old man.
It is at this moment that Weasel commanded Radio to leave the old man alone or face the consequences. “You have to deal with me first if you want to touch Mzee,” Weasel said as Radio laughed on and continued with the punishing.
We are told that at this point Weasel couldn’t take it anymore. He decided to grab Radio and rain punches on him for disrespecting their “Mzee”.
The relationship between the two once BET nominees became tense there on. They couldn’t make it to appointments together let alone practice for their show together. They were only reunited to perform at their Best of Radio and Weasel gig by the show promoter who used his diplomatic skills to get them together.
At the show last Friday, the two stars were evidently not in sync as they performed for their fans. “I read something in the tabloids about them breaking up but I didn’t believe it. But when I went to the show, I swear they were not the same stars I know. Weasel was standing on one side of the stage as Radio stood in the extreme corner to entertain fans. They never displayed that Good Lyfe Chemistry. I think something bad is happening. I hope it has nothing to do with former management since they have fought hard to stand on their own,” said Osborne, a die-hard Radio and Weasel fan who attended the Friday show at Hotel Africana.
Radio and Weasel who broke away from Leone Island Crew in 2008 are still irreconcilable at the moment with fans left in a state of morass as to what will become of their favorite stars.
We are watching them and we will keep you posted.
