Last evening, Big Talent Boss, Eddy Kenzo, shocked fans when he announced that he had sacked two of his team members, Geosteady and Tip Swizzy.
The news which was greeted with mixed reactions was announced on his Facebook page. According to the “Sitya Loss” singer, the two had absconded from performing at over five shows leaving Big Talent Management largely made up of him and yes-men with no choice but to swing the axe.
When we talked to insiders at Big Talent, the revelations were shocking.
According to our sources, Eddy Kenzo is very scared of Geosteady. We have been told that the singer knows that Geosteady is a very big vocalist who can sprout and overtake him any time in his own camp.
“Kenzo is a very tricky man. He doesn’t want anyone in Big Talent to overtake him. He brought in Geosteady this year in April but from that time, he has made sure that he doesn’t surpass him in any way. When he started to make some side cash, Kenzo saw it as golden opportunity unleash the axe,” the source noted.
Other factors withstanding, it is common knowledge among people that you cannot put two bulls into one kraal as they will fight each other, causing the loss of the cattle and the destruction of the kraal. This alone may have influenced Big Talent Management’s decision to fire the two so as to concentrate on further propelling Kenzo’s music to greater heights with no distractions whatsoever.
However, James Propa, a music critic believes that this action holds no water at all and sees the fired artistes returning to Big Talent sooner than later.
On his Facebook page, the controversial critic noted: “This is not a point worth discussing. A few months or even weeks Tip Swizzy and Geosteady will be back in Big Talent. For Geosteady it may be questionable but for Tip Swizzy, he will be back faster than lightning. This is not the first time both have left Big Talent.”
With both Tip Swizzy and Geosteady tight lipped on their next move, one can only watch the story as it unfolds. Importantly, because music falls under showbiz highly characterized by stunts, don’t be surprised if this is one of those many New Year stunts.
