The party was not only intended as an eating, drinking and making merry activity; but was to also intended to appreciate all the associates for their hard work in 2016. The associates were served up with an amazing array of activities, drinks, food and performances including the “Mannequin Challenge” viral sensation which was organized by the event MC NBS’s Samson Kasumba.
“We are grateful for this day and I want to thank all the associates for their hard work. Last year was a very good year and I am beyond positive that 2017 will be even better. Sheraton Kampala Hotel is celebrating 50 years and I must admit, I am humbled to be leading this great establishment as we celebrate this milestone with all of you here. The story of Sheraton Kampala is really captivating and I encourage all of you to get involved in the various activities we have planned for this year to commemorate the special year.” Said Mr. Jean Philippe Bittencourt the General Manager of Sheraton Kampala Hotel.
The party climaxed with Radio & Weasel who performed some of their best hits like Ngenda maaso, Ntunga, Sweet lady, Kuku and many others as the staff sang, danced and jumped to the music. The duo put a show to remember with their energetic performance and vocal prowess that got the party goers excited as they danced and sang along to their songs.
In addition to this, the hotel management also launched a staff competition which is to motivate them to work harder but also look at work in a positive way. The competition will involve the associates sharing their unique Sheraton moments though pictures and stories and the best stories being awarded various prizes.
“Sheraton has gone through several transitions right from 1978 when it was officially opened as Apolo Hotel to this moment – and we are very grateful to the associates and over the years that have helped us get where we are at now. This year we have a lot planned out as we celebrate and we shall see several hotel improvement projects, some of which have already began,” concluded Bittencourt.
