The Uganda National netball team, the She Cranes have continued to shine at the 2015 Netball World Cup as they recorded their second huge win with a 61-40 score line over an 8th ranked Fiji in the opening game of Day 2 at the AllPhones Arena in Sydney Olympic park .

The She Cranes who are ranked 14th in the netball rankings had no trouble condemning Fiji who had already lost their first game against a 7th ranked Wales on opening day.

It’s now becoming a habit that Uganda took the lead winning the first quarter 15-12 and going ahead to win the other three.

Once again, Sharp Shooter and team skipper Peace Proscovia set the pace for the rest of the team as she scored 37goals while attacker Racheal Nanyonga came second on Uganda’s score board with 24goals, 12 more from the ones she scored yesterday against Zambia.

Ruth Meme assisted 14 goals, deflected 5 passes and intercepted 3.

Betty Namukasa forced 33 turnovers in Uganda’s defense out of the total 40 turnovers, deflected 9 passes and intercepted 3.

Head coach, Rashid Mubiru made no changes in his starting lineup from the one that crushed Zambia 74-38 in Uganda’s Group D opener.http://bigeye.ug/¬she-cranes-crush-zamb¬ia-in-their-netball-¬world-cup-opener/

The She Cranes now await to take on Wales tomorrow in what is expected to be a clash of the Group D giants.
