Samsung has announced that its Bendable UHD TV will be released in its native South Korea today (August 1).
The 78-inch 4K display is capable of flexing at a point and changing between flat and curved depending on the viewer’s preference.
The flexing is done via a simple press of a button on a remote control, after which the TV starts its transformation.
From flat to curved takes about six seconds and the television screen itself stays on while the switch takes place.
Samsung first showcased its Bendable TV technology at CES in January, but it was unclear whether the products would make it beyond the prototype phase.
The firm is yet to announce whether the shape-shifting sets will be released in the West.
