Jinja based side, Sadolin Paints FC are in deep shock after the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) revealed that their Dutch manager Jacques Meyer Van Der Walt is under qualified to lead the club in the capacity of head coach.
It should be remembered the local football governing body set new terms and conditions for all the Uganda premier League clubs among which was that ‘a head coach must have a minimum qualification of a CAF B or its equivalent coaching license to lead any top flight club’.
The 24-year-old Dutch man was brought ahead of the 2015/2016 campaign to take over from Samadu Musafiri whose qualification is only a CAF C class despite having been in charge of the club since promotion from the FUFA Big League.
The Bugembe based Painters are now in a search for a new coach with a CAF B class coaching license, however they maintain that the young Dutch international will remain part of the coaching staff at the club.
“Van Der Walt will still remain part of the coaching staff but we are looking for a head coach,” Club Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Saidi Kakuuku told Airtel Football. “We have had negotiations with two senior coaches but we are zeroing on one and we hope to finalize business by today with the confirmed terms and conditions.”
We will keep you posted.
