The Uganda under-17 national team resumed training yesterday in preparation for their last game of the Africa youth qualifiers in which they will host the Zambian young Chipolopolo in two weeks’ time. Having lost to 2-0 to Zambia in their first leg at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka, the Cubs now want focus on the second leg and see if they can convert the two goal deficit if they are to qualify for the 2015 CAF U-17 champions that will be in Niger.
Despite the commencement of the preparations, some of the players missed the first training sessions due to minor injuries. “Rest was granted to 3 players who got a few knocks from the Zambian game. These are defenders, Bashir Asiku, Diego Katumba and striker Shaban Mohammed,” Emma Ndugga the media office said.
