City tycoon SK Mbuga’s home was raided recently by URA officials escorted by the police, according to reports. Officials who had gone to confiscate his monster cars were, however, left in shock after they found Mbuga’s house empty.
SK Mbuga, boyfriend to singer Leila Kayondo, who is reportedly on URA’s watch list over tax evasion was allegedly raided after he refused to heed to URA’s call to clear the outstanding income tax arrears that have accrued over time amounting to about Ugx 200million.
Accoding to Kakensa, a renowned media personality, “URA officials first raided Mbuga’s home on Thursday evening, but he managed to convince them and signed two Cheques one for the debt which is close to Shs 200m and another for the debt collectors.”
Mbuga who still proclaims his innocence would not let them have the last laugh as he rushed to the bank the following morning to have the cheques cancelled before they could be cashed.
This in turn enraged the URA officials who stormed the tycoon’s premises for the second time only that this time, Mbuga, a popular sangoma based in South Africa had already worked his magic and made the cars disappear mysteriously. URA officials looked on in shock as they could not trace any of his monstrous cars and walked away like a battered dog with a tail between its legs.
Mbuga who has now taken to playing cat and mouses with URA claims he owes nothing to URA because he has no business in Uganda and therefore can’t be charged income tax.
