Uganda Cranes aged the Amavubi Stars of Rwanda by 1-0 in a closely competitive duel of 2015 CECAFA Senior Challenge cup final at Addis Ababa national stadium in Ethiopia on Saturday afternoon.
Express’ Ceasar Samson Okhuti was the day’s hero having scored the only goal of the game that saw Uganda clinch its 14th title of the CECAFA regional tournament. Okhuti headed off Dennis Okot’s cross from the right flank to give Uganda Cranes the lead at the quarter hour mark, a goal that eventually became the match winner and his third of the tournament in six games played.
In the changes made left back Isaac Muleme replace Okhuti in the 53rd minute; Kezironi Kizito came on for teammate Erisa Ssekisambu in 71st minute while Frank Kalanda came on late in stoppage time for Muzamiru Mutyaba.
The victorious Cranes contingent returns home on Sunday at around 6:00p.m aboard of the Ethiopian Airlines.
