In a few years, we have seen a couple of young talents erupting from nowhere. Thank God for A-Pass and a herd of new blood. In the same breathe, thank God for Nutty Neithan as well. Okay, his moniker seems like a vague jest. But it doesn’t take away the fact that this new lad came with vigor, he is a bomb waiting to explode, a blooming flower, a pupa undergoing musical metamorphosis. He is the future of the ailing dancehall genre. Bakuwe Kyonywa puts the last nail to that assumption.
Yes, it has been around for quite a while (it has enjoyed quite a good airplay) and I had avoided it intentionally, waiting for the deafening noise to wane. It is still on, however. It shows how powerful and well-crafted this song is. Typical dancehall track. The lyrics are on-point because they appeal to most revelers and bar hoppers and drunkards. A kind of track that holds you in its grip and never lets you leave the dance floor. In the process, your glass is being filled with your favorite poison and you continue; dancing, wobbling on the floor to Nutty Neithan’s sounds. It is a good song from not only a largely unknown artiste, but clearly, a promising lad who, if he stays in the lane, might be a gem in the future. You deserve a drink, Nutty!
