Kampala Capital City (KCC) hit Kira Young where it hurts the most with a 2-1 defeat at the Phillip Omondi Stadium, Lugogo yesterday in the Uganda Premier League (UPL) in a send off match for their head coach George ‘Best’ Nsimbe. Kiira Young came into the game after a 3-0 loss to Villa last week on Friday.
Nsimbe was taking charge of his last game with the ‘Kasasiro Boys’ who made no mistake but to hand him a farewell win thanks to the efforts of lead striker Brian Umony who scored a brace.
It should be remembered that Nsimbe signed a two year deal with Tanzanian side Azam FC under which he will be joining them as assistant coach come 1st February next year. His contract with KCCA was due to expire in January next year but the club has given him a leave absence as one of the ways to appreciate his tremendous job that he has done as well as giving him ample time to prepare for his new job.
Nsimbe as former player and a coach will always remain a hero to KCC as a club after guiding them to three league titles in the year 2008, 2012 and 2013. He has also left the defending champions in a league-title retaining position as they stand third on the table with 20 points from 9games.
Kira Young remain with 9 points leaving just a place above relegation.
