This is loosely translated as “No, Mun*G, stuff has refused”. He has been the wittiest rapper in Uganda for some time now. Actually, no single rapper outwits Mun*G. He is creative as he is funny. Sarcastic. He takes the biscuit with the way he raps; effortless with practiced ease. But now, Byayanga! His single Byayanga is one of those Mun*G tracks he pulls out randomly. Produced by Aethan. You would say, the beat is what carries some water in it. The lyrics are silly. Perhaps Mun*G has his own genre of music. If he claims to belong to Hip Hop, he should reconsider his claim. He is not. He is a standup comedian who happens to have producers as friends and they aide him with beats and recording privilege. Boom! But still, one should cut him some slack.
Flourishing in an industry that is limping is not an easy feat. But Mun*G defies that norm. Always, he has! Byayanga is a song about ‘stuff has refused to work out’. If there is anyone who should pick a leaf from this, it should be the owner of the song itself. Stuff has literally jammed, like young folks would say. He should find a footing and hang onto it. But then again, if this style puts a plate on his table (which matters most, at the end of the day), then he should stifle a deaf ear and stick his oars there. You want to laugh, Byayanga will kill you with mirth. You want to enjoy hardcore Hip Hop, you will fold Byayanga and throw it in a trashcan.
