Kenyan musician Jaguar has resigned from his government job.
President Uhuru Kenyatta appointed the singer as the director and board member of NACADA (National Authority for the Campaign against Alcohol and Drug Abuse) in April 2015.
Jaguar handed in his resignation stating that he has done so because of his own personal reasons.
“I would like to tender my resignation as a board member of the national authority for the campaign against alcohol and drug abuse (NACADA) effective immediately due to personal reasons. Serving as a NACADA board member has been a fulfilling learning experience and deeply appreciate all the cooperation from the board, management and staff in the campaign against alcohol and drug abuse. Thank you for the privilege to serve Kenyans,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, Jaguar has been doing great work helping Kenyans in Nairobi especially the slums. His good deeds recently sparked rumors that he was eyeing the Starehe Constituency parliamentary seat on a jubilee ticket. There were posters made in his name suggesting the same too. However he denied the claims when reached out for a comment on the matter.
