It is the way he delivers his bars that makes St. Nelly Sade a rare gem. He is effortless. He doesn’t even try hard and he is funny. Bars peel off him like a snake shedding skin. He delivers them with unadulterated crisp wit with a smidgen of creativity. Oh, boy is he creative! He has stuck his oars in Luga-flow as most of his peers try their luck on English and I am certain as hell that he has no regrets about it.
The ‘Tubaale’ singer comes with another head-tossing tune titled ‘Nina Plan’. And indeed he has a plan. A darned plan to make good music. A plan that he has stuck with ever since he planted his foot on Uganda’s musical journey.
In ‘Nina Plan’, the Luga-Flow Army rapper features Moth. It is the beat that strikes a chord for me. It is catchy, well-baked and it will render you nodding your head furiously. However, the lads outdid themselves on this track. Spewing well-crafted words in a witty way. And I wonder why St Nelly Sade, a lad of his immense talent, is still ducked in the shadows.
His delivery, which he does with practiced fluidity, cannot be gainsaid. And he never sounded different on ‘Nina Plan’. He was the usual self. He didn’t sound an inch different and ‘Nina Plan’ is a kind of song that will stick with you for a while. The beat on the track, as the youths would say, is sick. And the song is ill, too. If you have no plan now, let me give you a plan, listen to this track. It might be worth your time.
