It is not news that TV presenter Mary Luswata is in bad books of many Ugandan celebrities, thanks to her controversial statements about them on local TV. She has however decided to make peace with them one at a time. Mary decided to start with Judith Heard today when she made a phone call to her live on her Scoop on Scoop show on Urban TV to apologize for all the bad things she said about her on the show.
You all remember late last week when Mary had an altercation with socialite Judith Heard and took the matter to television. She called Judith a low life and an illiterate, and Judith responded with a threat and it seems Mary has calmed down.
“Mary Luswata on Urban TV has insulted me always and I have never asked her why? But this time she went to far by saying these words about me,” she said. “Let’s see where this ends.” According to close pals, Judith was contemplating a court battle. “She wanted to take Mary to court for defamation,” a close friend said.
It seems Mary realized that fighting with Judith would only work against her. She decided to apologize. According to our BigEyeUg legal expert, an apology is not a defence to a defamation law suit, however, apologizing through the same medium on which the defamatory statements were made is a good way to avert a suit against oneself.
