MANCHESTER UNITED have wished Danny Welbeck well on his move to Arsenal.
Welbeck left United for Arsenal last night in a £16million deal.
The England international has signed a five-year contract and will wear the No 23 shirt at the Emirates.
United wished Welbeck luck on the move, highlighting his less than impressive goal record for the club in their goodbye message.
“Danny Welbeck has signed for Arsenal after 29 goals in 142 appearances for MUFC. Good luck for the future, Danny,” United tweeted.
Arsenal rolled out the red carpet for their latest signing, with #WelcomeWelbeck subsequently trending on Twitter in the United Kingdom this morning.
Welbeck takes Nicklas Bendtner’s No 23 shirt and will help cover Olivier Giroud’s absence by competing with Yaya Sanogo and Joel Campbell for the lone striker spot.
