After a 3-month break, the Nile Special University Football League (UFL) finally returned at the knock out stages with Makerere University taking on Kyambogo at the Luzira Prisons Grounds.
Makerere managed to overcome their arch rivals with a 2-0 whipping on Wednesday afternoon in what was an eagerly awaited fixture at the neutral ground.
Striker Lubwama Joshua stole the show after netting a brace on the day with a goal in each half. He scored from twelve yards after teammate Kazibwe had been fouled in the forbidden area leaving the referee with no other choice but to point to the spot.
In the dying minutes of the game, Lubwama scored his second with a low shot in the bottom corner to give Makerere a 2-0 advantage ahead of the second leg of the quarter finals of the annual tournament.
