League leaders Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club target title triumph on enemy territory in their trip to Muteesa II Memorial Stadium, Wankulukuku to face off with Express Football Club in the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) on match day 29. The Kasasiro Boys have been in intense preparations ahead of the big tie on Tuesday evening.
Mike Mutebi’s side is just three points away from clinching a record eleventh league title while it will be Mike’s first major trophy in nearly two decades of his coaching career.
On the other hand, even when their title hopes are still very slim, Express FC still want to fight until the final day and have been very busy since their last league action. During that time, they have played two major friendly matches as buildups ahead of the big fixture, losing 2-1 to Lweza FC on Wednesday and 4-1 to Vipers SC on Friday last week.
The first leg between the two sides ended in 1-1 draw at Nakivubo with Ibrahim Kizza scoring for the Red Eagles while Muzamiru Mutyaba was on target for the Kasasiro Boys.
Express must win all their last two games and pray that KCCA FC and holders Vipers SC falter. In those games they must also accumulate a better goal difference than their other title rivals.
KCCA sit on top of the table with 55 points while Express are third with 49 points. While the Red Eagles have no injury worries ahead of the tie, the same cannot be side for the Yellow Boys who will be without the services of defenders Hassan Wasswa Dazo, Timothy Awani and Sakka Mpiima who are all sidelined along with Jackson Nunda.
On match day 29, eight games will be played across the country on different grounds and will all kick off at the same time to avoid any possibilities of potential foul play.
