Jamaican singer Mr. G, real names Chad George Simpson, who was in the recent past the talk of town after collaborating with Bobi Wine on several music projects has showered praises on fashion guru Sylvia Owori.
Mr. G relived the past in a post he shared on social media as he recalled the days he first stepped on Ugandan soil, way back in 1998. He praised Sylvia Owori for having made his first visit to Africa possible after she booked him to perform at a concert in Uganda.
The Jamaican singer also talks of how he inspired Uganda’s “big three” to pursue a career in music following his concert at Lugogo Cricket Oval.
He posted:
“Today I would like to say thank you to Silvia Owori for being the FIRST PROMOTER TO TAKE MYSELF AND RED RAT TO AFRICA UGANDA , it was at this concert in 1998 that we did at LOGOGO CRICKET OVAL that influenced and inspired 3 of Uganda,s biggest Stars to pursue a Musical Career , Bebe Cool who I gave a CD with some Rhythms that he used to Record On to start his musical journey , Bobi Wine was also at the same concert and of course the Doctor Chameleon , each of these Three Giants Told me this Personally . 12 Years later Bebe Cool brought me back and a Year later Bobi did the Same , but it all started from my first visit in 1998 when I was Brought there by Silvia Owori .”
