Award winning music star Bebe Cool has expressed his anger with Ugandan DJ’s, TV and Radio stations for their preference of Nigerian Music over Ugandan music. The singer who recently released a new video called ‘Nyonyi Nkeze’ shot here in Uganda using drone cameras uttered out his frustrations online.

“My advice to Ugandan artists, ignore all Ugandan DJ’s, TVS and Radio Stations who opt to play Nigerian music more than Ugandan,” he said.

Ugandan music only became dominant in Uganda after a long struggle by big artistes back in the day. Lingala music was the order of the day back in the 90’s and enjoyed massive airplay on most of the FM stations in Uganda.

“I personally pity them coz they do not have a single idea how hard it was to push out Lingala music making Ugandan music a priority hence creating jobs for our brothers and sisters who today r stars.” Bebe Cool continued to say.

According to Bebe Cool, Ugandan DJ’s, Radio and TV stations that have continued to support local Ugandan music deserve credit.

“Am not saying Nigerian music should not be played, it should be played as much as any other country music but Ugandan music must be played more.” Bebe Concluded.
