The officer in charge at Kabalagala Police post has revealed how his officers arrested city tycoon, SK Mbuga, last evening after he assaulted his lover and musician Leila Kayondo.

According to the Police Officer, his men found Leila and SK Mbuga together drinking in Kabalagala yesterday after she had posted daunting comments on Facebook.  “By the time we found them they were together at a bar in Kabalagala drinking. Leila then started fighting our officers even insulting some and saying that we cannot take her man because he is sick and will die in jail. We had orders to follow and so we decided to take him in jail,” the officer said.

Leila who spent the night at Kabalagala Police station vowing not to leave until her man is set free said that whatever she posted she did in anger.  “I have withdrawn the statement. I didn’t mean all those things that I posted on Facebook and Instagram. I did it all in anger. I apologize to everybody.”

The “Tompona” singer also commented about claims that she was cheating when SK Mbuga found her. “I was not cheating. I was out at lunch with two friends. One was a man the other a woman.”

SK Mbuga says that he was overtaken by anger when he found Leila at lunch with the two people. “I found her in a place I didn’t expect her, with people I didn’t expect to find her with so I was just asking her what was happening and we became mad and everything went out of hand,” he said.

Police used the opportunity to remind Ugandans to be careful on what they say on Facebook as this could lead them into trouble. “Think before posting. What you say can be picked up by our bosses and we will have to come for you,” the officer revealed.

By the time we left the station, Mbuga’s were still begging for the tycoon to be released in vain. Leila too was there with him.

We will keep you posted.
