Uganda Cranes midfielder and former Gor Mahia star, Geoffrey Baba Kizito will not be playing for Spanish La Liga side Malaga this season.
The development follows the collapse of his move to the Spanish side due to delayed and unfinished paperwork in the just concluded January transfer window.
It should be noted that the Kizito had been on trials with the club for about a week and managed to impress but his move failed to go through after failing to get clearance travel documents from the French embassy.
“Baaba has been training with Malaga for close to one week and everyone at the club was happy with his style of play,” Royco Garcia, founder of RAYCO sports Academy is quoted on Afristars.net.
Turning to the French embassy for travel documents was due to lack of Spanish embassy in Uganda which made the situation just harder for the deal to go through at the time of the closing hours of the transfer window.
“Failure of Spain to have an embassy in Uganda made it difficult, but when I come back to Uganda, I will meet Ugandan FA President Moses Magogo to forward me to the Ugandan President Museveni to discuss Ugandan players’ issues,” Garcia added.
For now, the Cranes midfielder returns to Vietnam to play under his current club Than Quang Nai until the summer transfer window opens in July.
