It was yesterday during the weekly press conference at the FUFA house in Mengo when FUFA president Engineer Mosses Magogo and his governing committee announced the charges for Uganda’s forth coming tie against Guinea on Wednesday 10th September, 2014 at Mandela National stadium. Tickets will cost Ushs 20,000/-, 50,000/- and 120, 000/-.
The FUFA president made appeals to the public and various stakeholders seeking support towards the development and facilitation of football in Uganda. Magogo also thanked individuals like the President of Uganda and various institutions for their support throughout the preliminary stage of the 2015 Nations cup qualifiers where the Uganda Cranes played Madagascar and Mauritania. The Uganda played four matches against these countries in the preliminary stages of the qualifiers, winning three and losing one of the four matches played.
“It is unprecedented to have eight (8) matches in three months. It is unusual as our dream to qualify for the finals will be determined in just three months”, Magogo, the FUFA president said. “No star player, No star President, No star coach can achieve this dream without support, FUFA needs support from every Ugandan.”
“If every Ugandan gives in their support on what we are planning, we shall be able to achieve our dreams,” remarked leader of Ugandan football. Magogo also called upon the clubs, administrators, players, fans and the media to give ultimate and maximum support to the two national team sides – Uganda Cranes and Uganda Cubs (U17) who will play four matches in a space of 22 days starting 5th September, 2014 in the forth coming Africa cup of nations Qualifiers and the youth qualifiers.
The FUFA president continued to send his vote of thanks to the government for the support they have given to the federation, security, religious groups, media, fans, sponsors Airtel, NIC and Nile Breweries.
“We have already engaged the government and we are hopeful of a good response,” said Magogo as he told the media.
