Former Uganda Cranes and SC Villa star, Andrew Fimbo Mukasa is currently in a very critical condition and is being hospitalised at the Mental National Referral Hospital in Butabika being diagnosed with mental illnesses again. The striker who was recently stable before being taken on by 2014 Uganda cup winners, URA was rushed to Butabika after his health conditions worsened on Sunday.
“He hasn’t been fine since last week but conditions deteriorated on Sunday and we had to rush him to Butabika. He needs our prayers. His mental illness is now beyond plus he has a bad fever and his skin is far from impressive,” reports Kawowo.
The prolific striker is highly known for his 45 goal mark in a single season which has not yet been matched by any other player and has been playing for URA FC but made his name while at Puma FC where he scored 33 goals in a season.
He started his professional career at Baggery FC where he spent a year (1994-1995) before joining Puma FC where he served for two years (1995-1997). He then joined SC.Villa (1998-2001) where his mental illness started around 2000. The striker later joined Express FC in 2001 (2001-2001) but his conditions worsened in 2003 subsequently quitting playing football. However, he later returned to playing football in 2011 joining URA FC where he has been until his mental illnesses led him to Butabika on Sunday.
The football fraternity has been called upon to help the ex-international as far raising funds for his treatment is concerned because his family alone can’t afford all the expenses for his treatment. If anyone is willing and wants to extend his assistance in terms of rising money for his treatment, please call 0704350581 (Ismael Kasoma) for details.
