It’s not even a day after a successful film festival has been conducted in Uganda that now producers are crying afresh. Uganda film producers through their governing body Uganda Film Producers Association have been fighting to ensure that the copy right law takes effect but to their shock, it was scrapped.
According to some film producers, this law would have helped them to bring down the number of Hollywood and Nollywood movies that enter the country in order to boost the consumption of local movies.
Due to this, the members of the industry are planning to petition the ruling body in hope that they can change the hearts of the people concerned. People will therefore converge on Thursday at National theatre to discuss the way forward.
