Emirates hosts children to a movie experience at the cinema

Emirates offered Ugandans a taste of in-flight experience by treating parents and their children to the screening of “The Nut Job 2”, the 2017 Open Road Films animation release.

Invited by Emirates airline, nearly 20 children with their guardians came together at Century Cinemax, Acacia Mall on Thursday to watch the much-anticipated animation movie “The Nut Job 2”.

Emirates offers a wide variety of children’s programming including the very best movies and television from Disney, Cartoon Network, CBeebies and Nickelodeon channels plus much more. Passengers can choose from Disney favourites, top kids TV shows and popular cartoons that opens up a world of entertainment for young flyers.

Meal times on board are also given extra attention on Emirates flights. The special meals offered to children aged between two and 12 years old are served on newly designed meal trays featuring the iconic Emirates cabin crew and pilots.

Little explorers can make new friends on their flight with Emirates’ cuddly Fly With Me Animals. These are blanket buddies to wrap up with or little seat critters that attach to the seat belt. Children can be creative with magnetic sketchers, or explore the airline’s Fly With Me Animals magazine.

The little adventurers also receive activity bags which include fold-out world maps, travel journals, plastic drink bottles, cards with world facts and various educational books exclusive to Emirates.

VIDEO: Singer Rashy K Releases New Video “Onkubye”

Sweden-based Ugandan singer Rashid Kibirige aka Rashy K has released a brand new video titled “Onkubye”.

“Onkubye” is one of Rashy K’s latest songs off his ‘Good Vibes’ Ep. It is a love song in which the singer reveals to a girl how much he is attracted to her.

The song is a fusion of afro-beat and dancehall, a style known as Bax Ragga.

The audio of the song was produced by Producer Kron, while the video was shot by Ugandan video director Superstar Films.

Cassper Nyovest nominated for BET Award ahead of Nairobi concert

South African rapper Refiloe Maele Phoolo AKA Capper Nyovest has been nominated in the 2018 BET (Black Entertainment Television) Award.

The Doc Shebeleza rapper, who will headline the TGR Festival at Ngong Racecourse on 26th May was shortlisted under “The Best International Act Award” section and will face-off against Davido, Fally Ipupa, Tiwa Savage among other nominees.

Lupita Nyon’go was also nominate for the “Best Actress Award” following her role in the acclaimed Black Panther movie.

The BET Awards will take place on 24 June in Los Angeles.

All around the world Thursdays are now celebrated with the hashtag #throwbackthursdays.

This phenomenon is often celebrated by Nigerian celebrities as well. Most recently, popular musicians Davido and Banky W took to their Instagram page to share images of themselves as kids.

Banky even made a joke about the fact that he used to have hair. “Same mischievous smirk, same shaped eyebrows. It’s a throwback but some things never change. However, God decided to be my barber and took care of the afro sharply,” he wrote.
