‘Equation’ singer Desire Luzinda has reportedly duped Ibanda hospital and Ibanda baby’s home. The singer, who promised to donate 25% of the proceeds from her ‘Black and White’ charity concert that took place at Serena recently is yet to give the money to the beneficiaries.
She took Ugandans for a ride according to one entertainment analyst. The analyst said; “She knows how Ugandans are soft hearted and love to give to those in pain and to the unfortunate, she used this opportunity to steal from them and take all the money.”
A source that works at the hospital revealed to us that she has not seen anything from the proceeds of the charity concert staged by the curvy singer. “She hoodwinked people into believing that she was doing the show for charity only to turn around and change her mind. Now, last week, I was told that she hasn’t even taken a penny to Ibanda Hospital or Ibanda baby’s home long after the concert was staged and well attended. We are all in shock at the hospital. I think she ‘stole’ the kids’ money,” said one of the hospital employees.
Charity concerts are now popular in Uganda, although no accountability is given to the public at the end of the day. Juliana Kanyomozi, Ronald Maro, Desire Luzinda, Bobi Wine are among some of the musicians who have staged similar concerts. True to his word, Bobi Wine took items to people in Kasese recently when they were displaced by floods. He had collected the items from his charity concert that he staged last year.
We will keep you posted.
