The Uganda National women’s football team head coach, Majidah Nantanda has named a 26-(wo)man squad that will start preparations ahead of a tie with Uganda’s arch rivals Kenya.
The Crested Cranes’ lead tactician summoned the 26 players on Tuesday at the FUFA house in Mengo, Kampala during a press conference that was graced by the federation President Eng. Moses Magogo and the CEO Edgar Watson.
“It is a pleasure to announce the Crested Cranes team. We have included one player who is based in Denmark for her experience and exposure. She is in the country. We start training on Wednesday evening,” Nantanda stated as quoted on the federation’s website.
The players will kickoff non-residential training on Wednesday evening at Phillip Omondi Stadium, Lugogo. During the press conference, it was also revealed that the team will travel by road on 1st July 2016.
The Uganda Crested Cranes will face off with the Kenya Starlets in a friendly match slated for 3rd July 2016 at Moi International Sports Complex, Kisumu.
