She Cranes are set for action this month just like the Uganda Cranes. The She Cranes started training yesterday with 13 players attending the first training session at Makerere University netball court ahead of this month’s World cup Netball qualifiers that will be hosted in Botswana.
Goal keepers Alice Nanteza from NIC, Florence Nanyonga of Police and goal attackers Hadijah Nakabuye (NIC) and Enid Abalo (Police) were some of the players that showed up for yesterday’s training. These were accompanied by Zawad Beatrice, Abalo Florence, the Wing Attacks from Police and Obua Desire Wing Attack from NIC among others.
The team is expected to depart next week on Wednesday for the campaign. The she cranes were drawn in Group B with Katongo ladies of Zambia, Swaziland and Namibia. The campaign will kick-off on the 13th until the 20th of September in Gabrone, Botswana.
The two finalist teams will then join South Africa and Malawi who have already qualified for World Cup that is set for Sydney-Australia 2015.
