It’s become a common habit for artists and our local celebrities to solicit funds and give back to the community, this has not left Dr. Jose Chameleone, the Leone Island boss an exception. Chameleone has revealed that proceeds from his “One man, One show, One million” concert scheduled for later this year will be used for a noble cause i.e. building boreholes and other basic necessities in the northern part of Uganda.
The Wale Wale star described the living situation in the north especially Karamoja as unpleasant, disheartening and worrying, and that’s where he generated the idea of the expensive show.
Talking to one of the local TV presenters, Dr. Jose Chameleone said;”There are areas and people that are always forgotten and not cared for in this country. Karamoja is an example of such places. These people die due to lack of good and clean water for consumption. It is my role as a public figure to try and make a difference. We are doing it for our brothers and sisters in Karamoja.”
The singer has already started selling tickets. Some individuals who have secured their tickets include Police commander Metropolitan Kampala Afande Felix Kaweesi and South Sudanese Tito Tongo among others.
