When Airtel Uganda posted about Ugandan musician Jose Chameleone on their social media platforms, they never imagined they would be clashing with the iconic singer.
Well, their seemingly “innocent” post has raised conflict with the “Wale Wale” hitmaker. He is not happy they are using his name to promote their brand and claims using his name in their post “disturbs” his agreements with other telcos.
Chameleone has cautioned the telecom company to always seek an understanding with the various artistes before using them in their brand promotions. He posted:
“I wish to extend my gratitude to Airtel Uganda for the recognition of My works and featuring me on your social media.Thanks.I further want to remind the concerned that i am Brand Chameleone and wish you could consider that putting me on the Airtel Brand is Disturbing my other Telecom agreements.I am not a partner in any business with Airtel Uganda so i request this considered. There should be an understanding between artistes and companies if you need to use names on Brand promotions.”
