Musicians who participated in the Tubonga Nawe project have received a lot of backlash from the public. One such musician is Dr. Jose Chameleone who was at the ‘helm of things’ in the project.
Seeing that musicians are being punished by their fans for taking part and refusing to turn up for concerts, Chameleone has decided to cancel his concert this year and also declare that he has shifted from creating music for Uganda to creating music for the world.
Days before his slated concert singer Jose Chameleone who through his entire career has had chants of his excellent talent and majority of Ugandan’s proclaiming him the finest, the singer has had a shock of his life with Kampalans threatening to harm his children and wife. The Seguku based singer has had goons promise to envade his family and harm it in various unknown ways. One of them while the singer drove in his convertable warned him to stay awake or he would be a family member less for taking part in the Tubonga Nawe prroject. His usually reserved wife recently got attacked while at the mall shopping and was saved by passerby who identified her before goons could pounce on her.
The singer has since remained indoors with family and finally cancelled his concert on such grounds.
“Boycotting my music? I boycotted Ugandans two years ago. Have you seen me organize a concert in the past one year? I won’t organize one this year, and the next two years. I am targeting the international audiences; Africa and worldwide audiences. Not Ugandans,” Jose said.
