CBS Fm’s Wamala Balunabba has officially quit radio to concentrate on his political career. The celebrated Luganda News anchor will contest for the 2016 Mityana South Member of Parliament. The place is currently occupied by former CBS Anchor Ssozi Kaddu Mukasa but might not seek for a 3rd term.
He officially announced his resignation in a statement that read:
“Wamala Balunabba finally calls it quits. It may be today 9:00AM that you are listening to my voice for the last time as a News Caster on the waves of the Mighty CBS FM.
I thank my King Kabaka Mutebi II for allowing me to serve His subjects as the longest serving News Caster since CBS’ inception. I thank my bosses for giving me room to manifest my talent, I will always be grateful for that. I thank my co-workers and lastly my (our) ardent listeners who have made me such a big name in the media industry.
Change is a fact of life which has to be welcomed. I accept the pain that may be inflicted on the hearts of my fans by my departure, but this is time to take one’s heart, Let my media fans turn into my political supporters. All my efforts now are to be garnered towards my Mityana Municipality Parliamentary bid.
I will be taking rest from a busy schedule I have had, for the whole of next week and then start afresh my serious circumnavigation of Mityana Municipality on Monday 9th November 2015.
I welcome all monetary, material and moral support towards my Mityana Municipality Cause. I promise diligent service as I am not being fronted by anyone, but rather taking my heart. My Mobile phone number will remain open to calls and messages as usual.”
