Brad and Angelina married in France on Aug. 23, a spokesman for the couple told the Associated Press. The couple said “I do” at Chateau Miraval, in the village of Corren, where the couple has an estate.
The couple wed in a private ceremony in a small chapel surrounded by family and friends, according to the outlet. Brad and Angelina recently obtained a marriage license from a California judge, who also conducted the ceremony.
The couple’s children — Maddox, 13,Pax, 10, Zahara, 9, Shiloh, 8, and six-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne— played a major part in the ceremony.
The bride was walked down the aisle by her eldest sons, Maddox and Pax. Zahara and Vivienne threw petals and Shiloh and Knox served as ring bearers, the spokesman told the outlet. So adorable
“The reason for getting married was very simple,” a source close to the couple toldHollywoodLife.com. “Obviously they love each other very much but every single day their kids ask them to get married. They ask them multiple times a day as well so they finally broke them down and go their wish. And now that everyone is old enough to understand what is going on they decided why not!”
The couple fell in love on the set of their film Mr. & Mrs. Smith, which was released in 2005. Angelina revealed that she was pregnant with Brad’s first child — Shiloh — in 2006. They welcomed twins, Knox and Vivienne, in 2008.
The couple announced their engagement in April 2012. Brangelina fans have been waiting in anticipation for the couple to wed and now they finally have! Brad was spotted out with his wedding band on Aug. 28.
