Bobi Wine declared winner in Kyadondo East by-election

Bobi Wine final rally in Gayaza

Musician turned politician Bobi Wine, real name Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi, is on his way to parliament. This after he emerged victorious in the Kyadondo East by-election on Thursday.

The “Bikwase Kyagualnyi” singer was declared winner with a 77.76% margin by the returning officer for Wakiso district, Francis Nkurunziza.

The singer, who was standing on an independent ticket, garnered 25, 659 votes to see off competition from other contenders including NRM’s Sitenda Ssebalu William who came second with 4, 566 votes and FDC’s Apollo Katinti in third place with 1, 832 votes.

The singer’s supporters and well-wishers have since come out to congratulate the sing on the landslide victory.
