Musician Bebe Cool has finally accepted that his recent loss in the MTV MAMAs provided him real-life lessons. While speaking at a press conference held at Hotel Protea yesterday, Bebe said that he has realized there is a lot that needs to be done differently about Uganda’s music industry.
He also confessed that everyone would have known the real Bebe Cool if he had won admitting that if ever Ugandan artistes are to dislodge the Nigerian musicians for the global and continental awards, corporate companies need to be at the helm in promoting the artistes. “BET, MTV awards are a business. You have advertisers like MTN Nigeria, Glo and Vodacom South Africa running adverts on these shows. Therefore if local artistes are to do so much, we must have Ugandan corporate companies advertising on these platforms,” Bebe said.
The Byebyo singer also indicated that he has already sold 35 VIP tables as he gears up for his upcoming concert dubbed “Friends of Bebe Cool” slated for 7th August at Kampala Serena Hotel.
