Bebe Cool recently ended his contract with Club Amnesia after 2 years of performing at the hangout every Tuesday evening. But it seems, he did not leave on good terms. The “Love you everyday” singer who had earlier announced that he was ending his gig at Club Amnesia to prepare for his concert later this year, has allegedly been bad mouthing the club’s management.

According Galaxy FM and Club Amnesia’s DJ Nimrod, Bebe Cool has been telling every one that he cancelled the gig over poor pay. Nimrod blasted Bebe in a post that read;

“Bebe Cool, u going to Laftas and telling people that Amnesia wasn’t paying you was inadequate. Now I agree with Ziza Bafana Dyebbie who said u create wars with almost everyone. Amnesia has been Ur home for 2 years, u have unpaid receipts there, u drink free there, u eat free food there, and on top of that were being paid fully. Even wen u were broke u would send someone there for advance for another working week, you even borrowed 10k from the manager and he wants it. So mwami Bebe Cool am giving you by the end of this week to apologize to Amnesia management and fans for Ur false accusations. We actually almost gave u a uniform coz u had become an employee.”

Law Kevin Jjemba, the law student who is determined to cut his teeth in the music industry

Published

By Stuart G-Khast

We all go to school to have a better future. Some people are fortunate enough to get the jobs they went to school for while others persevere in other fields.

To Kevin Jjemba, law is everything in his life but it comes second to his passion for music. This is why he’s been juggling both of them at the same time. We catch up with him to discuss how his musical journey compared to his law studies has been.

Usually law students are so focused and don’t have any distractions. Why are you so into music?

It’s all about passion. I am really passionate about my music, no matter how long it takes as long as the passion is still within me I’ll keep going.

For how long have you been doing music?

I recorded my first song in 2010, but then released my first song in 2011, so I have been doing music professionally for 9 years.

Nine years is a long time. What has been keeping you going for all that while?

The industry is ever changing and very competitive, the reason it has taken me quite some time is because I have not been releasing music consistently.

So what strategy do you now have?

I am here to stay and I have a very good strategy. Besides not releasing music, I have been encountering some of the most exploitative people ever to have walked the earth in this music industry but now I know who to trust and who not too. I’m soon getting done with books and music is what I will have to put all my focus on.

There are so many artistes in the industry, how will you manage to pull through?

First by being myself. Then being original. I don’t intend to be a photocopy of any other musician.

What style of music do you do for starters?

I do zouk, pop, reggae and dancehall among others. So I basically do most styles apart from rap.

Tell me some of your songs in your nine year journey?

In those nine years, I have eight songs with many others not yet released but will be coming out on an album set to be released next year. Among the released ones include ‘one big family’, ‘every-day’, ‘I want to know you’, ‘yekyaanze’ ft Cindy Sanyu, ‘Omukwano gwedda’, ‘Nkwetaga’ and the new one ‘Terrified’.
