Uganda’s top musicians Bebe Cool, Jose Chameleone, Juliana Kanyomozi and Eddy Kenzo have received a nod in the All Africa Music Awards(AFRIMA). According to a tentative nominees list released on Monday, they will battle for the top gong in East Africa.
Bebe Cool, Chameleone, and Kenzo are nominated alongside Ugandan rapper Navio for Best Male Artiste in Eastern Africa where they will face off with Tanzania’s Ali Kiba and Diamond Platnumz.
Kenzo is nominated for his song “Mbilo Mbilo rmx”, Bebe Cool for “Kabulengane”, Chameleone for “Agatako” and Navio for “Njogereza”.
Meanwhile, Juliana is nominated for the Best Female Artiste in Eastern Africa award alongside Uganda’s Irene Ntale & Cindy Sanyu, Ethiopia’s Fikeradiss and Kenya’s Victoria Kimani & Avril.
Juliana is nominated for her song “Twalina Omukwano”, Irene Ntale for “Omukwano Gwe’kilo” and Cindy for “Still Standing”.
The AFRIMA award ceremony will take place early November in Lagos, Nigeria.
