The 3rd edition of the Zzina Awards 2016 took place on Friday night at Theatre La Bonita in Kampala.
Musicians who have been making a difference in the industry went back home with accolades in recognition for their talent and hard work.
Key to note was the three awards won by Daxx Kartel Abaryeerubah who is pretty new to the awards environment.
Daxx who got his first nominations ever in Song of the Year, Best Rising Star and Afro Beat Song bagged all three awards to the amazement of many.
Speaking at the awards, the ‘Baala’ singer said that he has surely upgraded to a big star now. He also noted that everything is possible if you put your mind to it. “I used to steal phones, but now I steal awards. I came with this back park that you see, to collect awards and this is what I am doing. Thank you so much my fans, thank you Zzina Awards,” he said.
