Kafunda Kreative has announced a strategic partnership with Airtel Uganda to work together over the course of this year in the #KoiKoiUg adventure series. The partnership, under the #KokoiUg initiative will entail several trips where content is generated and shared and seeks to deliver a different experience for most Ugandans regarding the notion of boosting domestic tourism. It will also seek to promote Airtel Uganda products and services.
The #KoiKoiUg initiative is a road trip experience that seeks to tell more authentic Ugandan stories by highlighting affordable, more off-the-path local adventures that can be experienced. By experiencing and documenting Ugandan sights and sounds the campaign shows more of Uganda which ultimately works to challenge stereotypes and uplift local and international tourism.
“We at Kafunda Kreative are very excited about this partnership. Since its inception, #Koikoiug looked to empower more and more Ugandans to communicate and share their stories, and there can be no better partner than someone who helps millions Uganda communicate stories everyday. This partnership provides us with the tools to get more Ugandans out there experiencing, loving and sharing about their beautiful country, the pearl of Africa.” Said David Ogutu, Team Leader, Kafunda Kreative.
“At Airtel Uganda, we are proud to be associated with promoting the beauty of Uganda. We are particularly pleased that the partnership goes beyond Kampala to the countryside as this is in line with our commitment to reaching out to every Ugandan with quality service and an enduring experience with the smartphone network,” said Charity Kamusiime, the Digital Marketing & Strategic Alliances Manager.
The partnership will see #KoikoiUg and Airtel take on 10 expeditions between 2016 and 2017. Each of the trips is an exciting visual adventure of curating stories on culture, community, sights, sounds and food. These stories will be shared with the world via social media, blogs, news articles and on koikoiug.com
The first of these trips will be taking place from July 29th to July 31st and it will consist of exciting activities in Northern Uganda around the Murchison Falls area and Gulu town.
