Uganda’s most successful club and 16-time champions SC Villa will be in action today on match day three as they pay visit to Kale Kayihura’s boys Police FC at the Kavumba recreational stadium in Wakiso district. SC Villa have started off their new Uganda premier league season in style with a reciprocation of Eng. Ben Missagga’s financial investments that revived the strength of the record champions.
SC Villa have secured two consecutive home wins against Soana FC who they beat 1-0 on the opening day of the league at their new grounds in Mityana. SC Villa continued to exhibit their home strength when they beat newly promoted side Lweza FC (2-0) who are yet to earn their first win in the Uganda premier league. SC Villa are yet to concede a single goal in the new season.
SC Villa will be looking to extend their stay at the top of the table in their first away game of the season when they play second placed Police FC who have 4 points but could go top of the table with a win against their guests.
SC Villa will be looking forward to depend on the strength of goalie, Ali Kimera, KCCA drop-out and former player Steven Bengo who looks to be in a spectacular form after scoring in their 2-0 win against Lweza FC last week. However, their lead scorer Karim Ndugwa (with two goals), Fred Nkata (Vice-Captain) and midfielder, Hassan Wasswa Mawanda will miss the tie as they are allstill struggling to regain their fitness.
Coach Steven Bogele (Villa head coach), will be looking forward to the fresh bench stars of Ronald Muganga and David Bagole (brother to Johnson Bagole) that came on during their Lweza win last week to replace the likes of Karim Ndugwa and Hassan Waswa respectively in case of failure to regain fitness on time.
Police will place their confidence in lead scorer Umar Kasumba to lead their attack in a pursuit to earn them their second win of the season. Both teams are unbeaten in the new season. Villa has won two in two while Police have won one and drawn one.
