A 24-year-old Tampa man is in police custody for allegedly beating his girlfriend’s one-year-old son to death with a leather belt because the boy urinated on him during a diaper change.
Austin Hamilton, who by the way is not the father of the child have been charged with first degree murder and aggravated child abuse for allegedly ‘losing control’ and repeatedly hitting one-year-old Sincere Williams on Saturday. Baby Sincere died in hospital, with the medical examiner ruling the death a homicide.
Officers and paramedics found one year old Sincere unresponsive on a bed inside the room.He was rushed to St. Joseph’s Hospital where he died.
At first, Hamilton told officers at the scene he didn’t hit the victim and was not involved in any accidents that could have caused his death.
On Sunday the Medical Examiner’s Office released a report which concluded the baby died as a result of blunt force trauma to the lower abdomen.
Detectives said Hamilton eventually changed his story and cop to the whole thing. He allegedly admitted he ‘lost control’ and hit the baby several times with a leather belt. He said he tried to pick the baby up, but Sincere fell and hit his head.
